The Caloundra Motorcycle Centre (CMC) Team once again led the way for Beta Motorcycles Australia, with Levi Rogers piloting the All-New BETA RX450 at Round 2 of the ProMX Championship taking place at Horsham, Vic on Sunday 7th April.

Lining up against Australia’s best MX1 Class Factory Teams and  Riders, Rogers and the Caloundra Motorcycle Centre team continue to gain valuable data and insight into the development of the all new RX450 Motocross bike at a Professional racing level.

During Sunday morning’s MX1 practice/qualifying combo, Levi continued to show great speed and flowed well around the slippery track. A small team communication error saw Levi miss out on Superpole as he sat in 10th place for the majority of the qualifying session, before being relegated to 12th on the final laps, only to narrowly miss out the Superpole Top 10 event by 0.6 of a second

The Horsham track presented with its trademark blend of hard pack, slippery and extremely high speed choppy bumps. A first at racing level for the CMC Team and the BETA RX450.

In Moto 1, Rogers would post a great start and after charging into the Top Ten, Rogers would unfortunately tip over in a turn whilst challenging for 9th position. Emerging from the fall to clear track position by the halfway point of the Moto, Rogers would log consistent laps to finish with a 15th place Moto score.

For Moto 2 Rogers would find himself with solid track position early in the Moto after another great start on the BETA RX450, logging competitive lap times and battling at the back side of the Top Ten with the elite Factory teams and riders of the ProMX Championship.

Crossing the chequered flag in 11th position for the Moto, Rogers would claim 12th Overall for Round 2.

“We are constantly moving forward in the right direction with the new bike”, commented Rogers.

“The Team and myself are learning every time we hit the track and Horsham especially, you cannot replicate these conditions in training. I had two great starts and the bike was consistent all day, I just need to work on a few things with my riding and it’s only going to show in better results from here”, concluded Rogers.

Levi Rogers and the Caloundra Motorcycles Centre team now have their sights set on Round 3 of the Aus ProMX taking place at Gillman, SA, Sunday 5th May.
